Nineteen of us left the car park at Thornton Hall farm for the ‘long walk’. We went through Thornton in Craven and joined the Pennine Way, climbing over Thornton Moor and up to Pinhaw Beacon, the highest point of the day. We continued to follow the Pennine Way, down to the village of Lothersdale, and we enjoyed our lunch in the park. After lunch, we followed the road out of the village, then along the bridleway towards Raygill Fisheries.
