About Us

The Rossendale Group is part of the Ramblers charity.  Our group has over 100 members, and is regarded as one of the friendliest groups in the area.  We walk around 10 miles every Wednesday, every 2nd & 4th Sunday, and some Fridays in spring, summer, and autumn.  We also run 5-6 mile local walks on the 3rd Sunday of most months, plus 3-4 mile local evening walks on the first and third Thursdays of the summer months.  This is in addition to several walking weekends in the UK, and usually a full week away on the Continent.  We also organise a variety of social events, including a BBQ, Christmas meals, theatre trips, etc.

Many of the walks exploit the beauty of the local scenery but often we go further afield to the Yorkshire Dales, The Peak District, The Lakes or the Welsh mountains. See our Walks Schedule for further details.

Please enjoy browsing our site and if you want more information, or would like to join us on one of our many walks, please feel free to get in touch via the ‘Contact Us’ link on our home page.
