Friday 13 July – Report on Baby Boomers’ Night Out

Another lovely social for Rossie Ramblers, perfectly arranged by Ursula.  Seven baby boomers attended, who prior to the show had a very nice meal at the rather smart A Mano Italian restaurant, opposite Blackburn Cathedral.  Prices were surprisingly low, and portions surprisingly large, such that some could not finish.  However, this did not stop them having an ice cream during the interval of the show!

St George’s Hall hosted the Roy Orbison and the Travelling Wilburys show, which was excellent, though ‘the Big O’ couldn’t quite reach the heights, note wise.  The other singers were very good, taking the parts of Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne perfectly, including their hair and attire.  On top of all this, their instrumentals were first class, including the drummer.  All in all, a brilliant evening, thanks to Ursula.

A great night out organised by Ursula. A tasty meal followed by live music from the tribute band of The Traveling Wilburys. Many thanks Ursula.
