Dougie to the rescue 11-3-2018 – Leader Jean

On a fine Spring Sunday morning, 10 of us, including Steve who joined us for the first time, met on the car park in Grassington.

We set off up the main street, turning left at the top and on toward Bank Laithe. After the first mile, Jean, our leader, succumbed to the virus that had been with her all weekend.  However, no worries! Dougie came to the rescue and offered to lead the walk.

Jean and Rosemary, who was also under the weather, returned to Grassington to while away the day!

Our hero, Dougie, led the group up to Moor Lane, eventually dropping down to Hebden, then on to Burnsall. It was then through the fields to Thorpe then Linton. A quick phone call reunited the two groups and tea and cakes were enjoyed in our favourite cafe, The Retreat.

Once again, a big thank you to Dougie for saving the day.

Write up Jean.
