Keeping abreast of all things Rossie Ramblers

Keeping abreast of all things Rossie Ramblers

In recent times I have tried to make sure that you all know what is happening by putting on a ‘Pssst’ post that points out upcoming social and other events.

Despite this, I gather that one or two people did not know the BBQ date, for instance, and consequently missed a thoroughly ‘good do’ and a fund raising opportunity.

Of course, to see what is happening, and to read the ‘Pssst’ post, one has to visit our site, which some of our members are obviously not doing, or are not doing often enough.  For those of you who are in this boat, there is another way to keep up to date, which is described below.  If you follow these simple instructions, the site will tell you about each new post by sending you an email.

When you are reading one of our posts that allows comments – typically about a recent or upcoming walk – scroll right down to the bottom of the page, where you will see the ‘Leave a Reply’ box, followed by a couple of lines with tick boxes on them – illustrated below.  The second tick box line says ‘Notify me of new posts by email.  Before this can take effect, you must leave a comment, so that the site has your email address.

To leave a comment, click in the comment box, say what you want to say, then click in ‘Name’ and type your name (we recommend using your first name and possibly surname initial only).  Then enter your email address in the next box, and finally tick the ‘Notify me of new posts by email’ tick box.

That’s it!  You only have to do it once, and the site will remember your choice.  You could do it now, by adding a comment on this post – scroll on down and strike while the iron is hot!

PS Any problems, just let me know, because I don’t want you to miss out on any of the good stuff happening with Rossie Ramblers.

Thank you to Arnold, who does his utmost to ensure we are kept well informed of all the goings on in Rossie Ramblers. I think we know those people who do not use the internet and attempt to keep them well informed. Well, as for the rest of us, it’s entirely up to us to use the excellent website at our disposal and if we don’t, we shouldn’t be surprised if we miss things.
