Sunday 9th August – Barrowford – Barley Circular

On Sunday 9th August Glyn Bruffell (07722009520)  starting at 10.00AM will lead a 7 mile walk with 1100 ft of ascent and grade level 3. The walk will start from The Barrowford Heritage Centre which is off Colne Rd,  Nearest postcode BB9 6JQ. SD 86238 39783. 53.854096 , -2.2106914.  53°51?15?N , 002°12?38?W. W3Wmassaged.drew.evenly. We will basically follow paths mainly crossing fields to eventually reach Black Moss reservoirs. Passing the reservoirs we drop down into Barley. All being well we will stop for lunch there, the cafe should be open for drinks etc.
We will then head for White Hough Farm to enter the woods taking us to the road to drop down to Roughlee. We then cross the stepping stones over Pendle Water and start the only real ascent of the walk, on reaching the top it is all downhill back to Barrowford. See red pin on map below.

This walk is free, but after 3 walks with us you are asked to join The Ramblers, at a cost of only £3.75 per month for an individual, or £5.08 for joint membership. 

Please note the following important points:

  • Prior booking is mandatory via this link. This enables walk leaders to organise their walk in line with the number attending.
  • Each individual walker must be on a separate booking, but if a walker does not have an email address, a friend or family member can book them on using their own email.
  • Booking closes one hour before the walk starts.
