While Malcolm’s footpath clearance team have been busy, Danny’s stile repair team have not been behind the door either. Since the middle of September, a further 4 stiles/gates have been improved, making something like 55 repairs since the team started – an amazing figure. It is not obvious, but this work not only includes fixing the stile, with all that is involved there, but finding out who owns the land, and getting permission from them to make the change, is very time-consuming and frustrating. On Friday 7th October David C, Malcolm, Martyn and Mark removed an old broken stile just above Marl Pitts, Leisure Centre Rawtenstall and replaced it with a gate.
