Delph, Oldham – 01/04/26 – Leader Heather
We set off on an overcast but dry day from Castleshaw car park and walked up a steep stony track before a very nice meander through a private garden.
After a short walk through a delightful hamlet in Diggle we dropped down to the Standedge Tunnel for coffee and photos.
We then joined the Standedge trail up to Brun Clough reservoir where we said goodbye to Kev. The group then carried on up to Black Moss and Swellands reservoirs then stopping for lunch at Redbrook reservoir where Graeme and Ian got the best seats in the house!
Heading on up to Marsden moor and Thieves Clough we came across 2 very brave ladies wild swimming.
Over the moors and re-joining the Standedge trail into Bleak Hey Nook, through farmland and down Dirty Lane to Castleshaw reservoirs. We finished our little ramble at the Cavallo Box for a well earned coffee and cake.
