To help those of you who do not look at our site very often, there is another way to keep up to date, which is described below. If you follow these simple instructions, the site will tell you about each new post by sending you an email.
When you are reading one of our posts that allows comments – typically about a recent or upcoming walk – scroll right down to the bottom of the page, where you will see the ‘Leave a Reply’ box, followed by a couple of lines with tick boxes at the left hand side – illustrated below. The second tick box line says ‘Notify me of new posts by email’. Before this can take effect, you must leave a comment, so that the site has your email address.
To leave a comment, click in the comment box, say what you want to say, then click in ‘Name’ and type your name (we recommend using your first name and possibly surname initial only). Then enter your email address in the next box, tick the ‘Notify me of new posts by email’ tick box, and finally click the ‘Submit Comment’ box.
After you have done this, you will receive an email from our site asking you to ‘confirm your subscription to Rossendale Ramblers’. Once you have clicked on ‘Confirm Follow’, you will then receive emails about new posts on our site.
That’s it! You only have to do it once, and the site will remember your choice. You could do it now, by adding a comment on this post – scroll on down and strike while the iron is hot!
Please note that if you do not receive RR emails into your inbox, they may be in your spam or junk folder.
