Walks Schedule 2026
We are a family friendly group, so children under 18 can join a walk for free with their parent, grandparent, or guardian. However, before walking with us, please click here for information about walk grading and safety.
NB The walks schedule can only give brief details of our walks, so please see the ‘Upcoming Walks & Events’ page of our website a week or so before the date of each walk for full details of leader, starting point, grade, how to book, etc. If you are at all unsure about your ability to do any walk, or if you simply want further details, then please contact the leader in good time beforehand for more information.
Wednesday walks are usually between 9 and 11 miles, and start from various locations.
Thursday evening pub walks (May to Aug) are local short and relatively easy walks taking around 2 hours, and start at 7.00 pm from various locations. During these months we also have one Saturday morning pub walk, as described below.
Friday walks are usually 9-12 mile linear walks involving local transport one way, but on some Fridays we also do some very different walks – see the walks schedule below for further details.
Saturday morning pub walks (Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, Sep, Oct, Nov & Dec) are local short and relatively easy walks taking around 2 hours, and start at 10.30 am from various locations.
Sunday walks vary during a calendar month. There will usually be one walk between 9 and 11 miles, 2 walks of approximately 6 miles and on the remaining Sunday’s a variety of distances between 6 and 10 miles. The walks start from various locations at 10 am.
Please note that the distances quoted are approximations, so the actual distance may vary up or down by 10-15%, depending on route and conditions.
All walks are graded as follows
Grade 1 – A leisurely walk – 4 miles or less. Approximately 2 hours. Pub Walks.
Grade 2 – An easy walk – 7 miles or less (and have a total ascent not exceeding 750ft)
Grade 3 – A moderate walk – 7-13 miles (or have a total ascent between 750ft and 1500ft)
Grade 4 – A step up from moderate – 13-16 miles (or have a total ascent between 1500 ft and 2000ft)
Grade 5 – A strenuous walk – 16+ miles (0r have a total ascent exceeding 2000ft). Our annual challenge walk would fall into this category.

This can also be used to see if there are any walks in a particular area, eg Grassington, or when a particular person is leading a walk.
