Friday – 21/08/26 – Monkroyd to Brierfield

On Friday August 21st, Diana (07837162890) will lead an 11 mile grade 3 linear walk with approximately 1300’ ascent, from Monkroyd to Brierfield. We will catch the 9.24am M4 bus from outside Morrisons Daily, Colne Rd, Marsden Height, Brierfield BB9 5NS. (w3w: flank.giving.tips). First map below.

NB: Those of us with OAP passes will be charged £3, arriving at Monkroyd Bungalow at 10.03am (w3w:
shock.engine.relies) from where the walk will commence. Second map below.

Just a few minutes away from the M4 Brierfield bus stop is the Northlight estate which contains Black Sheep Coffee (w3w: coats.rise.jacket) It will be open before and after the walk should refreshments be required. There is free parking nearby on the large car park. ( I think its unrestricted parking) or on nearby streets.

The walk dips in and out of the Pennine Bridleway, Bronte Way, Pendle Way , Burnley Way
and a few other paths!

This walk is free, but after 3 walks with us you are asked to join The Ramblers, at a cost of only £3.75 per month for an individual, or £5.08 for joint membership. 

Please note the following important points:

  • Prior booking is mandatory via this link. This enables walk leaders to organise their walk in line with the number attending.
  • Each individual walker must be on a separate booking, but if a walker does not have an email address, a friend or family member can book them on using their own email.
  • Booking closes one hour before the walk starts. 
  • If you have any queries about coming on this walk, please contact the walk leader on the number above.  If you have booked on and are unable to attend, please inform the walk leader before the start of the walk.

Safety: We very much welcome new walkers with us, but if you are unsure about your ability to do the walk, then please contact the leader beforehand to discuss the demands of the walk and what you need to bring.  Also please note our safeguarding policy regarding children and vulnerable adults.
