Sunday 23rd August – Reedley Hallows
On Sunday 23rd August, Roy (01706 826570) will lead a 6 mile Grade 2/3 walk from Higham. The walk will start at 10.00 am from the end of Higham Hall Road, SD 81218 36687, or 53.826103 , -2.2868157, or 53°49’34″N , 002°17’13″W, or WtW ropes.open.hats – red pin on map below. Postcode BB12 9EU gets you into the area. Park in the dead-end part of the road.
The walk will take in the Pendle Way, Greenhead Manor, Rigg of England, and Higher White Lee. We will stop along the way for a snack, so please bring something to eat. The walk will finish by 2pm, leaving plenty of time for family matters.
The paths are a mixture of hard and potentially muddy, so please wear sensible shoes or boots, as well as a waterproof jacket in case of rain, and bring plenty of water to drink.
This walk is free, but after 3 walks with us you are asked to join The Ramblers, at a cost of only £3.75 per month for an individual, or £5.08 for joint membership.
Please note the following important points:
- Prior booking is mandatory via this link. This enables walk leaders to organise their walk in line with the number attending.
- Each individual walker must be on a separate booking, but if a walker does not have an email address, a friend or family member can book them on using their own email.
- Booking closes one hour before the walk starts.
If you have any queries about coming on this walk, please contact the walk leader on the number above. If you have booked on and are unable to attend, please inform the walk leader before the start of the walk.
Safety: We very much welcome new walkers with us, but would ask you to contact the leader beforehand to discuss the demands of the walk and what you need to bring. If you are at all unsure of your capabilities, then we suggest you try one of our shorter walks – see Walks Schedule for details. Please note our safeguarding policy regarding children and vulnerable adults, and note also that dogs are only allowed on our 2 hour pub walks.
