Hebden Bridge – 03/06/26 – Leader Ian
12 ramblers met for the walk at the Clough Hole car park, Hardcastle Craggs. The weather had improved significantly from stormy forecast earlier in the week although waterproofs were needed for most of the walk.

The group headed up Clough Head Hill from the car park reaching the Standing Stone Hill trig point. At Lower Gorple reservoir, we found some shelter for elevenses before crossing the front of the reservoir and joining the Pennine way for a while walking alongside Walshaw Dean Lower and Middle reservoirs. The group stopped for lunch outside a shooting hut  and then crossed the moor descending into Walshaw Woods through Hardcastle Craggs to Gibson Mill. Cake and tea were enjoyed at the mill to fortify ahead the final challenge of the climb back up to the car park!

Thanks to Mark for taking the pictures, Kevin for back marking and everyone else for turning up on what had looked like an unpromising day!

The walk was just over 10 miles with 1800 feet of ascent.
